Nathan Aspinall claimed a draw against James Wade on Night 14 of Premier League Darts which knocked 'The Machine' out of the running but saw 'The Asp's potential play-off confirmation on hold.
Aspinall spoke afterwards and believes due to the closeness of the table that any point accrued will be massive when the race for the play-offs concludes.
"In my head before the game I wanted two points but during that game, I think a point was a fair result. In the early encounters, James (Wade) was fantastic, he scored very heavy and I took a couple of good shots out like I did last night," said Aspinall to RTL7.
"I really enjoyed that match. I like a scrappy game but I'm happy with how I played."
"Last night was just unreal. I said it in my interviews, for me he's (Van Gerwen) in my era the best player to pick a dart up and to beat him like I did was extra special. I played better tonight and I didn't get two points, that table is too tight, any point is massive."
