Nathan Aspinall is the next player through to the Quarter-Finals at The
Masters but only just after scraping past Mensur Suljovic 10-9.
Aspinall survived five match darts from Suljovic to win through and claim a place in the Quarter-Finals where a tie against Mervyn King awaits.
Suljovic had a brilliant start in the form of a 117 checkout to hold in the opener in 15 darts. From there, he headed into the interval though finely poised with a 156 checkout to go 3-2 up.
He stayed ahead at 4-3 up though with a hold of throw. A crucial 115 checkout on double 19 from Aspinall saw him level at 4-4.
At the next interval though, it was level with a 103 checkout for Aspinall claiming parity. In the requisite leg, he wired the bull for a 130 checkout and Suljovic hit double nine for a 6-5 advantage.
It continued to be level though with Suljovic missing two darts to break and Aspinall claimed a reprieve at 7-7.
it became 12 consecutive holds of throw as Suljovic pinned double eight to lead 8-7 but he found a crucial break to make it 9-7 to go one away.
But he squandered two match darts and Aspinall trailed from there at 9-8 before forcing a decider.
Suljovic left 32 with Aspinall forced to take out 117 but he missed a match dart at double 20 and 'The Gentle' returned only to miss three more himself.
Aspinall seized the next opportunity hitting double 10
