Vincent van der Voort is not having his best year on the Pro Tour. He has dropped to 36th place in the world rankings.
Van der Voort seems to be quietly heading toward the end of his career. "That's hard to say. Last year we thought the same with Gary Anderson and he is there again this year. Peter Wright recently put it nicely: 'When you get a little older and don't train enough, everything gets a little rusty.' That might also be the case with Van der Voort," said Matthias De Vlieger, darts commentator for Belgian broadcaster VTM 2.
"I hope by all means that he continues for a while, he remains a special player after all, with a distinct style of throwing as well. Hopefully he will have another flare-up in his career."
"But if that doesn't happen the Netherlands certainly need not despair, there is plenty of talent and someone will soon take Vincent's place on the Pro Tour," De Vlieger concluded.
