William Borland has reached the last sixteen of the
Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest with a surprising victory over
Mensur Suljovic.
Suljovic played his first PDC-tournament since the end of April. Due to medical problems, the Austrian was absent on the circuit for some months. With new darts and glasses, The Gentle finally returned to the stage on Saturday. A quick defeat was in the air after a 5-2 deficit, but the Austrian fought back to 5-5. However Borland claimed the win after hitting a 14-darter in the leg-decider.
James Wade booked a hard-fought 6-5 victory over William O'Connor. Wade gave up a 4-1 lead, but struck in the deciding leg with a 14-darter to take the victory.
Brendan Dolan had an easy encounter with Alan Soutar. The Northern Irishman only allowed his Scottish opponent one leg to reach the final day in Budapest.
