Luke Littler has spoken about receiving many boos tonight when he plays in Liverpool, but explains how he may enjoy it and why he is expecting it. Whilst Liverpool fan, Stephen Bunting explains how Luke Littler will struggle after this antics this time last year. On X, Luke Littler posted, "One of the best nights in the Premier League calendar coming up tomorrow, bring on the boos Liverpool".
Stephen Bunting, the Liverpool fan, has also warned Littler heading into the night speaking about what he did last year. "Football rivalries will always be part of the sport, one way or another, but it's a dangerous path to go down," warned Bunting. "Last year, I was there as a fan and he was mocking us for getting beat 2-0 by Everton, and I don't think people forget stuff like that. Bunting also speaks about how Littler might become "slightly fragile" and "alone" whilst on stage.
The Mancunian is known to loving a bit of a hostile atmosphere. Choosing to cup his ear when he won in Liverpool last year but also used it towards the Newcastle fans in week 8. He did carry on and speak about the time he didn't understand why he was being booed in Germany, "I was flying and then they started booing me and I lost. It's something we've all got to deal with." It seems when he expects the boos he can block them out but when its unexpected it doesn't always end well for him.
We will have to wait and see just how bad the reception is toward the 18 year old tonight. Will he struggle to play his game with the hostile atmosphere or will he show the Scousers why he sits top of the Premier League table. Tune in from 7pm GBT to see how it plays out.
