Bunting continues fine form with victory over Wade to book World Grand Prix Quarter-Final spot

Stephen Bunting will face off against Ryan Searle in the Quarter-Finals of the World Grand Prix in a repeat of their World Championship clash after knocking out James Wade 3-1.

Bunting is in fine form once again and won through with seven 180's and three ton plus checkouts with another chance for a quality run for 'The Bullet'.

To begin the tie, Wade missed 96 on double eight for the opening leg and a break and Bunting replied to hold throw.

Bunting hit a 180 and this put the pressure on Wade to miss 56 on double 20 which allowed Bunting to go 2-0 up on double 10.

He concluded the set with a 132 checkout hitting bull, bull, double 16 as his opening domination over Wade continued.

Wade began the second set going seven darts into a nine-dart finish but wrapped it up with an 11-darter.

Bunting levelled up with a hold of throw but in big moments in the context of the match, Wade missed 116 and Bunting pinned 107 superbly to go 2-1 up. He only had to hold to go two sets up.

Wade looked frustrated as he missed 80 and Bunting returned looking at 170 but he missed the first dart. He left 36 though only for Wade to break back and level up.

He had the throw now for the set and with Bunting unable to get away until his sixth dart, Wade cracked in 174 and followed it up with an 86 checkout.

Bunting though made Wade serve it out after sweeping the third set pinning 102 after a timely maximum.

Wade wasn't having too much luck though as Bunting pinned double six first time after initially having a nine-dart attempt go begging and he was soon one away.

Wade drifted into double 12 to bust 61 and this summed up his game as he allowed Bunting back to claim victory on double 10.
