With a sensational 10-8 victory over Peter Wright, Richie Burnett managed to reach the quarterfinals at the UK Open in Minehead on Saturday night.
It is the first time since 2014 that Burnett, the 1995 world champion at Lakeside, has reached the quarterfinals of a PDC major again. Back then, "The Prince of Wales" reached the last eight at the World Grand Prix and the World Cup of Darts.
The Welshman is already on a strong run anyway. Last December, Burnett also competed at the World Championship. That was his first World Championship appearance since the 2014 edition.

- I completely agree with Vincent's comments on "whistlegate". It's great to have someone with Vincent's exprience address this issue, so hopefully clearer and stricter guidlelines can be given to referees, security and members of the crowd. No whistling during throws, and something like: whistlers evicted and fined a hefty sum.
