Cameron Menzies booked his place in the second round of the
Czech Darts Open with a convincing 6-3 victory over Ian White. The Scot opened with a brilliant 140 finish, but soon found himself trailing after White strung together three successive 17-darters to move 3-1 ahead.
That deficit only lit the fire in Cammy. A sparkling 13-darter and a ruthless 11-darter brought him level, before a 15-darter put him back in front. He never looked back, sealing five legs on the spin with further checkouts of 85 and 16 darts to close out the contest in style.
Andrew Gilding also survived a nervy opener to edge past Darius Labanauskas in a last-leg decider. Goldfinger looked to be cruising when he stormed into a 4-1 lead, firing in finishes of 81 and 116 alongside a 15-darter and 13-darter. But momentum shifted as Labanauskas clawed his way back to 4-4.

William O’Connor produced one of the comebacks of the day, fighting back from 4-1 down to stun Luke Woodhouse 6-5. The Irishman looked second best for much of the match, but rallied with runs of 2-0 and 3-1 to drag himself level at 5-5. In the deciding leg, The Magpie held his nerve to complete a remarkable turnaround and book his place in round two.

Nijman edges fellow countryman Veenstra
Wessel Nijman came through a dramatic all-Dutch battle with Richard Veenstra, sealing his spot in round two with a 6-5 victory. Nijman raced into a 2-0 lead with 16 and 14-dart legs, only for Veenstra to respond with finishes of 78 and 94.
The match ebbed and flowed as both men traded 14-darters before Nijman pulled clear at 5-3 thanks to two more legs in 14 darts. Veenstra wasn’t finished, though, pegging back to 5-5 with a 72 finish and a hold of throw.
The decider saw Flyers narrowly miss a spectacular 160 checkout, wiring tops for the match. Nijman stepped in on double 4 to clinch victory.
Wattimena overcomes Dolan in scrappy affair
Jermaine Wattimena also advanced, grinding out a 6-4 success against Brendan Dolan despite a flurry of missed doubles. The Dutchman took advantage of early errors from The History Maker to lead 2-0, but Dolan replied with a 14-darter and a 75 finish to level at 2-2.
After Dolan moved 3-2 up, Wattimena responded with finishes on tops and a 16-darter to retake control. Both players continued to miss crucial doubles, but it was The Machine Gun who capitalised late, nailing double 6 to seal the win.
Pratnemer downs Pietreczko
Slovenian Benjamin Pratnemer impressed on his return to the European Tour stage, overcoming Ricardo Pietreczko 6-4. Pikachu responded to an early 2-0 deficit with a 100 finish on his way to 2-2, and the pair traded holds all the way to 4-4.
Pratnemer then held throw to edge ahead before producing a superb 11-darter to wrap up the contest and reach round two.
Razma ends Unger’s home hopes
Madars Razma ended the hopes of Czech qualifier Lukas Unger with a 6-3 victory. The debutant delighted the Prague crowd with checkouts of 101 and 110 to level at 3-3, but from there it was all Latvian Razzmatazz.
Razma powered through the gears with a 13-darter and a 90 finish to move 5-3 ahead, before finally sealing victory with his fifth match dart.
Joyce silences Sedlacek
Ryan Joyce rounded off the afternoon session with a 6-3 win over Czech favourite Karel Sedlacek. With little to separate them in the early stages, the pair were locked at 3-3 after six legs.
But Relentless lived up to his nickname, reeling off three consecutive legs with clinical 96, 92 and 80 checkouts to silence the home crowd and march into round two.
