Cameron Menzies often loses to a player who wins the tournament

Cameron Menzies has been in brilliant form for several weeks, but the Scot has not yet managed to turn his strong form into a tangible prize. 'Cammy' is hankering for a first PDC title, but regularly has some bad luck with his draw.

According to statistics platform Darts Tracker, Menzies has lost in six of 19 Players Championship tournaments to the player who also ended up winning the tournament. This number is the most of any Tour Card holder.

In fact, in the last four Players Championship tournaments, this happened to Menzies four times. He lost to Chris Dobey in the final of Players Championship 19, while Menzies lost to Damon Heta in the final match of Players Championship 18.

In the quarterfinals of Players Championship 17, Josh Rock triumphed against Menzies before Rock would take the title. Jonny Clayton stopped the Scot in the semifinals of Players Championship 14. Earlier this season, Luke Littler (last 16 at Players Championship 1) and Dave Chisnall (last 128 at Players Championship 6) had won over Menzies before clinching the title.

Menzies already managed to earn £56,500 in prize money this season. A debut at the World Grand Prix beckons later this year, while 'Cammy' has also already secured participation in the Players Championship Finals and the World Darts Championship.
