In January 2024, another so-called Celebrity World Championship will be played in Düsseldorf, German commentator Elmar Paulke announced on his Instagram.
The Promi Darts World Championship is an annual tournament in Germany to which six top darters are invited. They are then paired with a German celebrity or someone who has become famous in Germany.
The upcoming edition will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2024. The lineup has yet to be announced, although it was revealed that clean-jumper Timo Barthel will be one of the German celebrities.
Last year, the Promi Darts World Championship was won by Michael van Gerwen and former football player Kevin Großkreutz. Van Gerwen also won the tournament in 2017 (with former football player and WWE wrestler Tim Wiese) and 2020 (with handball player Pascal Hens).
