Owen Bates must say goodbye to sexually charged nickname after qualifying for World Darts Championship

Owen Bates recently qualified for the World Darts Championship via the PDC Challenge Tour. That means he gets to showcase his talent on the world's biggest stage in front of millions of people.

And no doubt the PDC didn't think it was a good idea to introduce fans to Bates' remarkable nickname. Indeed, the 20-year-old Englishman goes by the nickname 'Master'.

Combined with his last name, it thus reads 'Master Bates.' And in an era of a woke culture, it may not be convenient to bear such a nickname. ''Too hot for TV,'' wrote his darts manufacturer Loxley Darts on X, the former Twitter. Bates responded to the comment by asking his followers to send in new suggestions for a nickname.
