Dave Chisnall after losing out to Raymond van Barneveld yesterday has sealed his first points at the
Grand Slam of Darts with a 5-2 win over Ted Evetts on Sunday afternoon.
With Gerwyn Price also ahead of him, Chisnall had to win and by a handsome margin to keep his hopes realistically alive ahead of his tie with 'The Iceman' tomorrow in what could be a crunch clash.
He took a 2-0 lead but with an 87 checkout and a hold of throw, Evetts made it 2-2. But a break at 4-2 on double eight saw Chisnall go one away and he sealed it with a 113 checkout. Stats wise, he produced a 101.5 average, four 180's and 55.6% on the doubles.
While
Mensur Suljovic also has his first win of the tournament, he sealed a 5-2 victory over Christian Perez who after yesterday's narrow loss to Danny Noppert could've acted as the spoiler.
But it is 'The Gentle' who sealed victory with a highest checkout of 101 as he awaits Noppert next who will face Simon Whitlock today.
