Dobey was responsible for eliminating Michael van Gerwen (6-0), Niels Zonneveld (6-2) and Dirk van Duijvenbode (6-2), among others, earlier in the day. In the semifinals, 'Hollywood' recorded a hard-fought 7-6 victory over Peter Wright.
Heta put an end to the tournament of Christian Perez, who can surely be called the surprise of the day. The Australian had earlier successively defeated Aden Kirk (6-3), Oskar Lukasiak (6-4), Luke Woodhouse (6-4), Jim Williams (6-1) and Brendan Dolan (6-3).
