Damon Heta has taken the win at the fourth Pro Tour event of 2024. 'The Heat' overcame Chris Dobey in a high-quality final of Players Championship 4 in Leicester on Tuesday.
It was actually Dobey who flew out of the blocks the quicker of the two, racing into an early 3-0 lead with legs of 12, 16 and 13. Heta though, fought back incredibly, reeling off the next seven legs on the spin with four 12-darters. Although Dobey did pull one back in the 11th leg, an 18-darter was enough to seal an 8-4 win for Heta, averaging 103.37 to Dobey' 106.44.
On their run to the final Dobey had seen off the likes of Dirk van Duijvenbode and Michael van Gerwen among others, whilst Heta picked off the scalps of players such as Jim Williams and Brendan Dolan.
