Chris Dobey took the title at the expense of Cameron Menzies at the nineteenth Players Championship tournament of the season in Milton Keynes. For "Hollywood," it is his fifth PDC title.

Dobey had reached the semi-finals by beating successively Niels Zonneveld (6-4), Rowby-John Rodriguez (6-2), Luke Woodhouse (6-3), James Wade (6-5) and Mensur Suljovic (6-1). In the last four, he was too strong for Daryl Gurney (7-3). For Menzies, it was his first time in the final of a PDC ranking tournament. His final place was no surprise. 'Cammy' has been in good form for weeks and was in the semi-final of Players Championship 18 on Wednesday.
In the final, Menzies could briefly hope for a first PDC title after taking a 4-2 lead. However, he saw the next three legs go to Dobey, but clinched again with a 13-darter, making it 5-5 after ten legs. Dobey then moved into a breakaway lead with a 13-darter and a 12-darter. Menzies narrowed the gap to 7-6 on a 16-darter, but then Dobey clinched the title with a fine 80 finish.
A total of 125,000 pounds in prize money is distributed at each Players Championship tournament. The winner of the event will receive a check for 15,000 pounds.
