Chris Dobey takes on Cameron Menzies in Players Championship final in Milton Keynes

Chris Dobey and Cameron Menzies advanced to the final of the nineteenth Players Championship tournament of the season on Thursday night. Later this evening they will compete for the title in Milton Keynes.

For Menzies, it is his first time in the final of a PDC ranking tournament. His place in the final is no surprise. "Cammy" has been in good form for weeks and was in the semifinals of Players Championship 18 on Wednesday.

Dobey had reached the semifinals by beating Niels Zonneveld (6-4), Rowby-John Rodriguez (6-2), Luke Woodhouse (6-3), James Wade (6-5) and Mensur Suljovic (6-1) in succession. In the last four, he was too strong for Daryl Gurney (7-3).

Menzies reached the semifinals for the second consecutive day after victories over Ricky Evans (6-3), Steve Lennon (6-5), Gian van Veen (6-2), Stephen Bunting (6-4) and Martin Lukeman (6-5). He then eliminated Thibault Tricole 7-6 after the Frenchman reached the last four on the Pro Tour for the first time in his career.

A total of 125,000 pounds in prize money is distributed at each Players Championship tournament. The winner of the event will receive a check for 15,000 pounds.
