Jonny Clayton won for the first time at the World Grand Prix on Wednesday night seeing off Ian White in a 2-1 win in a match where he missed three match darts but soon made amends for that.
Clayton spoke afterwards and admitted that he doesn't read into statistics and other aspects of his opponents before he plays and that his sole focus is winning matches.
"Obviously it's a short format. To play against Ian White was brilliant, that's a good win for me and I'm chuffed to bits," said Clayton to Online Darts post match.
"I'm not into politics, I don't read into many things. I just go up there and play because I'm not the brainiest. I don't look at statistics, I want to do well, I want to win matches that's all I think about."
