Huybrechts glad to return to winning ways in World Grand Prix with victory over Dolan: "It's been a while since I've played a good TV tournament"

Kim Huybrechts won through the opening match on Wednesday night coming from a set down to see off Brendan Dolan in a 2-1 win on his return to the World Grand Prix.

Huybrechts spoke afterwards and admitted he had to overcome three different obstacles to be successful against Dolan and he was glad to do so.

"It's very tough. We never play this and then you're playing someone like Brendan Dolan who is a genuinely nice guy. But to play him with his pace and with his speed is going to be very hard. It's been a while since I've played a good TV tournament so it's three things I've had to overtake and I'm happy with the win," said Huybrechts to Online Darts post match.

"To be honest I was just happy to be back so I wasn't thinking too much about the format and then as soon as you go on stage you realise you can't start with the treble 20."

A wait for Huybrechts occurred with the European Tour potentially deciding his fate and he admitted it was on his mind: "I was like I'm not going to watch as I didn't want to jinx myself," he added.
