Clayton after sealing Last 16 spot with convincing Suzuki win: 'I knew I had to win'

Jonny Clayton is through to the Last 16 at the Grand Slam of Darts after seeing off Mikuru Suzuki in a convincing 5-0 win.

Clayton joins World Cup partner Gerwyn Price in the next round and for 'The Ferret', he knew he had to put in a good display to assure himself of his spot.

"I'm a happy man. That game was massive to me knowing what Mikuru can do so I knew I was in for a big game of darts unless I really pulled my finger out and I think I did," said Clayton post match.

"I knew I had to win and the more I won by was a plus on my side. I think if I'd gone second knowing maybe that I had to win 5-0, I think the pressure would have been even more even though there's was a lot of pressure playing against Mikuru and knowing how good she is.''
