Clayton, Cullen and Smith through openers at Players Championship 12, Cross and Aspinall out

The latest Players Championship action begins at Barnsley Metrodome today with Event 12 now underway.
For the likes of Jonny Clayton, Joe Cullen and Michael Smith, they are already successfully through to the Last 64.
Clayton averaged 95 in only just seeing off Stephen Burton 6-5, while for Cullen, it was a 101 in defeating Kevin Doets 6-4.
Jose de Sousa is also through breezing past John Michael with a 102 average, while despite averaging 100 to 98 from Smith, Jules van Dongen fell 6-4 to the hands of 'Bully Boy'.
Rob Cross is out though suffering an early defeat to John Henderson 6-3, while ProTour and Challenge Tour standout, Scott Williams has dealt with Nathan Aspinall 6-1 with a 94 average.
Luke Humphries also hit a blockbuster 115 average to ease past Tony Martinez 6-0. There is no Gerwyn Price or Michael van Gerwen yet, both receive byes due to Brian Raman and Gary Anderson not being involved. The latter due to COVID-19, the former due to playing at Lakeside on Friday evening.
