The second semi-final is confirmed at the
Baltic Sea Darts Open with
Jonny Clayton set to face
Dave Chisnall later this evening after runs for Steve Beaton and Martin Schindler came to an end.
Clayton saw off Beaton in a 6-2 win averaging almost 103. He has only lost five legs all weekend and looks to be on the charge to potentially a first title of the year. He hit two ton-plus checkouts against the Bronzed Adonis with 54.5% on the outer ring.
Starting off with a 118, Clayton raced into a 4-0 lead from there before Beaton finally held throw but Clayton went one away with a 100 checkout and despite an 87 checkout hold, Beaton showed no more resistance as 'The Ferret' sealed it.
While for Chisnall, it was a 6-4 success over Schindler who anchored home hopes and potentially looked likely to carry those through at one point.
Sat 4-3 up, Chisnall pinned a 90 checkout using bull, double 20 to hold for 4-4 parity before breaking on double five after Schindler couldn't take out 71 and it was 5-4 before a 74 checkout to seal it as the St Helens ace mastered the combination shots.
