CLAYTON WINS! It wasn't vintage Clayton but he did what he needed to do to get over the line and reach the Third Round.
Jonny Clayton is through to the Third Round at the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship fending off a fightback from John Henderson to claim a 3-1 sets win.
Clayton, the Number 17 seed in this year's tournament stopped the rot after five consecutive legs from Henderson to win through after previously going 2-0 up.
'The Ferret' was in cruise control to begin the tie with a 3-1 opening set win with a 95 average and 100% on the doubles and he was soon up 2-0 in no time with double 12 seeing him win the second 3-1.
But it was Henderson's turn to get back into the tie with a brilliant 85 checkout on the bull seeing him break throw and go 2-1 up. From there, he pinned double 10 to clinch it.
Like alluded to, it was five straight legs for Henderson and Clayton stopped the rot in style with a pivotal 140 checkout. He pinned double 10 with Henderson sat on 60 to force a deciding set.
