Searle storms past De Zwaan in superb straight sets win

Ryan Searle is through to the Last 32 at the PDC World Darts Championship for a third year in a row after storming past Jeffrey de Zwaan in a superb straight sets win.

De Zwaan hit nine 180's with a 98 average but only claimed four legs with Searle hitting 45% of his doubles in claiming victory.

It was a close start between the pair with Searle starting the tie with a 120 checkout and edging through the opening set 3-2 with 60% on his doubles,

Searle's lead was soon doubled to 2-0 despite a 99.5 average from De Zwaan as 'Heavy Metal' took out 130 to claim it 3-1 as 'The Black Cobra' was on the brink.

Despite being eight points down in the averages, Searle once again capitalised on missed opportunities from De Zwaan who went straight for double 19 for 38 and it didn't pay off. Searle cleaned up 25 from there to go one away and completed the feat with an 11-darter in the form of a 58 checkout.
