Jonny Clayton continued his excellent run at this year's
World Grand Prix by seeing off Danny Noppert to reach the final.
It could now be destiny for Clayton who is yet to claim a ranking TV title despite being the Premier League and Masters champion.
"I think it was the fourth set that really made the difference where I had to take doubles where Danny missed in the third set but I think the fourth set, he was 2-0 up and I came back and won that set and I think that made a massive difference. You could see by Danny that his head dropped but he was under more pressure but he's fantastic, total respect to the guy and I got over the line," said Noppert post match.
On his chances of winning it, it is still very much not dreaming yet.
"I feel comfortable up on that stage. I'm enjoying every second of it, the crowd are fantastic so yeah let's see what happens."
Crowd onside
Clayton knows that he will have the crowd on his side this evening but he still knows he needs to produce.
"The fans favourite and the darts are totally different, I've got to produce my best game.
This run overall has produced a run towards the top 10 which would be capped off with a rise to World No.7 if he wins this evening but again he takes a pragmatic approach.
"It's only a number, it would be nice for top 10 obviously but it's not over yet. I've got another day to go."
