Noppert reflects after Clayton win: "What went well all week just didn't work tonight"

Danny Noppert's fairy tale at the World Grand Prix has come to an end. The Dutchman lost in the semi-finals 4-1 to the Welshman Jonny Clayton.

"Until 1-1 in sets it went well, but after that I completely lost my way. Especially on my doubles I had a lot of problems. What went well all week just didn't work tonight", said Noppert.

Still, Noppert was able to come to terms with Clayton's mastery. "Jonny played a super match tonight, I have a lot of respect for him and he deserves this final. For myself this performance gives a lot of confidence for the rest of the season, starting already next week at the European Championship", concludes 'The Freeze'.
