Clayton steals draw against Aspinall after surviving two match darts

Jonny Clayton has stolen a draw against Nathan Aspinall with the latter missing two match darts en route to claim both in a top four Premier League Darts clash.

Clayton took out double 16 to snatch the point with a 99.5 average in the end as it ended 6-6 between the duo.

Aspinall made a strong start to the tie opening up a 2-0 lead over Clayton with a 78 checkout but Clayton hit back with a 64 checkout to halve the deficit.

'The Asp' replied in kind with a break back in the form of a 68 checkout to go 3-1 up. Once again, it was a reply with Clayton hitting a 121 checkout on the bull to make it 3-2.

Aspinall replied with a 124 checkout for a 12-darter to make it 4-2. Clayton broke to stay in touch at 4-3 but despite both players going back and forth, Aspinall made sure of a point at 6-5.

Following this, Aspinall though couldn't make it pay and missed match darts which allowed Clayton to sneak through.
