Night Ten in Birmingham sees an interesting final set between Jonny Clayton and Peter Wright as 'The Ferret' looks to make it back-to-back nightly wins after winning in Berlin last week to begin his play-off charge.
This could gain further steam as again like last week, he dumped out league leader Michael van Gerwen in a 6-3 win and is now unbeaten in five matches.
The first two legs in the tie were shared before Van Gerwen missed three darts at doubles in the third and Clayton led 2-1. He broke from there with a 171 and double 16 to make it 3-1.
Before making it four legs in a row with a second 180 and double 16 for an 11-darter at 4-1. Clayton went one away with a third 180 and double 18 as his doubling clinic continued and this proved the Achilles heel for MVG in the end who unlike previous weekends won't have the European Tour to put it right as he won't play in Munich.
While after coming into tonight with a sole win and out of contention, Wright could yet win his first Premier League Darts night of the season with a stunning run to the final in Birmingham.
Wright initially broke at 4-2 on double eight and went one away at 5-2 and was seemingly on his way to the final a lot earlier but back-to-back legs put the pressure on at 5-4 and Price hit a 12-darter to send it all the way at 5-5 and after chasing around, Wright hit a last dart double five to move through.
