Jonny Clayton has hauled himself well into
Premier League Darts play-off contention after seeing off Peter Wright in the final of Night 10 in Birmingham for back-to-back nightly wins.
Clayton sealed victory in Berlin last week and again saw off Michael van Gerwen en route and this time, it was a certain 'Snakebite' in the final who has had a dismal Premier League Darts campaign so far but has his most successful run so far albeit going down 6-5.
Breaks of throw were the order of the day in the early going as Wright led 3-2 but he missed darts to consolidate and Clayton made it 3-3. This pattern continued as Wright made it 4-3.
Only for Clayton to make it back-to-back legs to move to within one at 5-4. Clayton missed the bull from 81 for the win and Wright took aim at 51 sending it all the way albeit 'The Ferret' had the throw.
He couldn't get a match dart from 104 and left himself shoddily placed only for Wright not to take advantage himself and Clayton swept any doubt behind with victory.
