Cross has never won a European Tour title; but he has finished top of the pile in the tournament that matters the most defeating Gerwyn Price 11-6 in the final.
Price clinched the opening leg on throw; but from there a break of throw and a hold saw Cross go 3-1 ahead towards the first interval. As a result, 'The Iceman' took out 100 to close the gap and go 3-2 behind at the first break. Cross held throw to begin the second session to go 4-2 up; but failed to take advantage of a break opportunity allowing Price to go 4-3 behind.
A 174 set up in the requisite leg allowed Cross to go 5-3 up and re-establish the two leg cushion. He improved that with a break of throw and a hold to go 7-3 up and only a few legs away from the finishing line at the break. Price reduced the deficit to 7-4; but with him way back on 238 after 15 darts, Cross hit double 12 for an 8-4 lead.
It was 'Voltage's turn for an off leg and Price held throw with ease to make it 8-5. Cross though went further towards the finishing line pouncing on Price missing the bull for a 170 checkout.
Cross missed the bull for a 95 checkout and to break and go one away and Price mopped up at 9-6. The former World Champion went one away with a 41 checkout and after Price multiple chances to hold, Cross hit a 52 checkout to win.
