Cullen silences home crowd with Suljovic victory to conclude European Championship semi-final line-up

Joe Cullen is through to the semi-finals of the 2021 European Championship for the second time in his career after silencing the home crowd in Salzburg with a 10-7 win over Mensur Suljovic.

After a tumultuous few months off the oche, Cullen is aiming to return to form and has done so this weekend by reaching the latter stages in Austria where he will now face Rob Cross later.

He produced a 95 average, 7 180's and a high checkout of 104 en route to end the chance once again of 'The Gentle' who continued his supreme form since returning to the tour.

It was a superb start to the tie for Cullen who eased into a 3-0 lead before Suljovic got off the mark and kept himself in proceedings firmly with a 102 checkout before the first break to make it 3-2.

It was a 5-5 game as The Rockstar took out 82 to restore it to parity despite 16 missed darts at doubles. But he surged into an 8-6 lead with a wonderful 11-darter after back-to-back 180's and this proved vital as he surged to victory.
