Joe Cullen has the
Premier League Darts play-offs in his sights and has moved into the semi-finals on the penultimate night of the regular season at the O2 Arena in London.
Cullen thrashed Gary Anderson 6-1 who will finish bottom of the pile in this year's tournament and as a result will face league leader, Jonny Clayton next week in Newcastle.
While for 'The Rockstar', he keeps his hopes alive after an emphatic win which featured a 93 average and four 180's.
He breezed into a 5-0 lead and looked to be in a rush to complete proceedings. This allowed Anderson to spare his blushes as he sealed a solitary leg only after Cullen missed three match darts.
But in the next leg, the Bradford ace halted any semblance of a comeback and will now face
Peter Wright in the second semi-final at the O2 Arena.
Wright who rocked new look spectacles for this evening was facing a returning James Wade who is himself chasing a play-off spot.
'The Machine' though somewhat expectedly given his recent illness and not playing since wasn't at the races and lost out 6-3 to 'Snakebite' who was on the oche at the O2 for the first time since his infamous final defeat to Michael van Gerwen before he broke out and became a double World Champion and World Number One.
It is also his first win since Aberdeen which was four weeks ago as he aims to drag his form back to that of the World Number One and continue his top four push himself.
