The first Quarter-Final is set at the 2022 Dutch Darts Championship with Danny Noppert set to face Boris Krcmar this evening in Zwolle.
Noppert was superb in seeing off Peter Wright 6-5 in the Last 16 with the World Number One continuing his wait for a return to the European Tour winners' circle.
Noppert started the match very well and quickly took a 4-1 lead. Wright proved that you are never finished with the world champion by taking the next four legs to take a 5-4 lead.
In the tenth leg of the match Wright was on 74 after twelve arrows. Noppert showed resilience though and threw out an amazing 126 to bring the game back into balance. Noppert was allowed to start the last leg and he did so with a 180. In the end he managed to win the leg and the match on double six.
In the last eight Noppert meets Boris Krcmar. He was too strong for Dimitri Van den Bergh one round earlier and now beats Ryan Meikle 6-4 in a superb victory for the player known as 'The Biggest'.
