On Thursday evening, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 in news which sent the United Kingdom in particular but all around the world into a period of mourning.
It has seen football in particular postponed alongside many sporting, comedy and live events. Darts though continues at least abroad with the European Tour in action this weekend in Jena and next weekend is likely to be the same with the World Series of Darts Finals taking place in Amsterdam.
Almost immediately after the announcement, the PDC paid their own tribute turning their profile picture and header black as a mark of respect. "The Professional Darts Corporation joins those in the United Kingdom and across the Commonwealth in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II," they said.

The PDC's social media channels changed as a mark of respect.
Messages also appeared from players past and present including Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Joe Cullen, Steve Beaton, James Wade, Kevin Painter, Keegan Brown and Andy Hamilton, among others and at the German Darts Open like in other sports, players were allowed to wear black armbands as their own mark of respect on a sad weekend.
