The new home of Josh Rock has been confirmed and as had been widely expected, the Northern Irishman has linked up with Target Darts. The news was officially confirmed earlier this morning by Target themselves on social media.
Rock has been known for several years as a huge up and coming talent in the PDC. The 23-year-old Northern Irishman won the PDC Youth World Championship in 2022, in that tournament for players under the age of 23 he defeated Scot Nathan Girvan 6-1 in the final. He won no fewer than five tournaments on the PDC Development Tour that same year, his first also as a Tour Card holder. In 2022 he also won his first tournament on the Players Championship, in the final of the 28th tournament he was too strong for Luke Humphries 8-5.
After three years under the banner of Mission Darts, Rock's exit was confirmed after the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship, where Rock suffered a disappointing third round exit at the hands of Chris Dobey. "We would like to thank Josh Rock for all of his efforts with #TeamMission over the last three years," wrote Mission at the time. "All the best for the future, Josh!"
As mentioned, that future has now confirmed to be with Target Darts. "Welcome to Team Target - Josh Rock!" Target announces on social media. "We are delighted to announce the signing of one of the hottest prospects darts has to offer, a former World Youth Champion - Josh 'Rocky' Rock."
Could this be the move that sees Rock fully realise his vast potential and begin to compete for the biggest PDC title on a regular basis? Only time will tell but with Rock joining the likes of Chris Dobey, Rob Cross, Adrian Lewis, Dimitri van den Bergh, Nathan Aspinall, Phil Taylor and of course, Luke Littler at Target, success is seemingly in the water.
Welcome to Team Target - Josh Rock! 🪨
