De Decker dumps out Michael Smith before Scott Williams takes deciding leg win over Noppert as seeds continue to fall in Hungary

Two more seeds have fallen as Michael Smith and Danny Noppert have departed the Hungarian Darts Trophy. Bringing an end to their Euro Tour tournament in Budapest at the last sixteen stage.

Noppert could not continue a good start against Williams. The darter from Joure led 2-0 with a 148 finish and a 14-darter, but saw the next three legs go to Williams. A 25 finish then made it 3-3.

In the seventh leg, Noppert missed five chances to break Williams, after which the Englishman kept his own leg. Noppert again held his own leg, but then missed two more break chances. In the end a deciding leg was the deciding factor and that went to Williams with a 16-darter.

Williams will face Mike de Decker in the quarterfinals. The Belgian darter caused a surprise by eliminating reigning world champion Michael Smith. Thanks to an average of 98.73 and a finishing percentage of 46 percent, it became 6-2 for De Decker.
