Aileen de Graaf is through to the final of the PDC Women's World Matchplay where she will take on either Fallon Sherrock or Lorraine Winstanley who will face off shortly.
This after De Graaf took out tournament favourite Lisa Ashton in Blackpool in a deciding leg triumph sealing it 5-4 in a hard fought success for the Dutchwoman.
A 60 checkout saw De Graaf take the opening leg for a break. Ashton couldn’t pin a 120 checkout but left it handy on double 10 with De Graaf unable to take out 106 and ‘The Lancashire Rose’ broke back and levelled up at 1-1.
She went 2-1 up but De Graaf levelled up again with a 60 checkout at 2-2. Ashton busted an 81 checkout but De Graaf missed double 20 for an 82.
Albeit due to busting, Ashton had to take aim at the 81 again and then missed three at double 20 allowing De Graaf to break and make it 3-2. But she squandered four darts for 4-2 and Ashton hit double four for a level game.
Ashton went one away hitting double 18. De Graaf sent it to a decider though and with Ashton ready on 40 took out double eight for the win.
