The second semi-final is confirmed at the Women's World Matchplay with no shocks so far in terms of the line-up albeit a scare for Fallon Sherrock.
Coming in the tournament of course as highly touted due to her runs at the World Championship, Grand Slam of Darts and Nordic Darts Masters, she faced the impressive 18-year-old Irish talent, Katie Sheldon who had the chance to go 3-1 up on the Queen of the Palace. But in the end after surviving a scare, she moved through in a 4-2 win.
Sherrock missed 158 for an opening hold but returned for a comfortable hold of throw on double four. She had a doubling disaster though and Sheldon hit an 86 checkout superbly to hold at 1-1.
This gave her a real confidence booster as she attacked the Sherrock throw and she hit a 74 checkout on double 20 for 2-1 up and was throwing to go one away.
But a 134 for Sherrock left 32 but her doubles failed her again. Sheldon slipped into double 11 on a 107 for a hold and this allowed Sherrock a skin saver to make it 2-2.
A 113 checkout on double four saw Sherrock go one away at 3-2. Sherrock missed double 16 for a 95 checkout to win but Sheldon missed double 12 for a 101 checkout and the Milton Keynes ace pinned double eight for the win.
In the process, she will play Lorraine Winstanley who saw off Rhian Griffiths in the first decider of the day with the Welshwoman coming from 3-0 down to send it all the way after an impressive start from the former World Master.
As alluded to, it was a good start for Winstanley who held with a 76 checkout. She pinned double nine to go 2-0 up with a break and go halfway from the win.
She missed a 110 checkout to go one away but Griffiths could not pin 130 which allowed Winstanley back for double 20 to go 3-0 up.
Griffiths got a leg on the board with a 56 checkout. Winstanley missed a match dart on double eight and Griffiths hit back at 3-2 down on double 20. From there, it was the same target as Griffiths pushed it all the way at 3-3. But a strong decider saw Winstanley take the tie on double eight.
