De Sousa edges past Brooks, Van der Voort snaps poor form with Hughes win

The first round continues at the Czech Darts Open in Prague with Jose de Sousa and Vincent van der Voort moving through.

De Sousa landed a timely 180 and 57 checkout to see off Bradley Brooks 6-4, with 'Bam Bam' sat waiting to send it to a decider. He will now face Danny Noppert after also producing a 98 average and a finishing percentage of 60% in seeing off Brooks.

While in the case of Van der Voort, he snapped a poor run of form seeing off Jamie Hughes 6-1 in a superb win for 'The Dutch Destroyer'.

Van der Voort surged ahead with a 61 finish and a 12-darter for a 12-darter for a 2-0 lead. A second break then followed in the third leg, before 'The Dutch Destroyer' brought the margin to four with a 53 check-out.

In the fifth leg, Hughes finally got on the scoreboard, but Van der Voort then immediately made it 5-1 by throwing out 50. He finished it off with a 17-darter, allowing him to take on Andrew Gilding in the second round.
