Beaton recovers to deny Labanauskas as Razma silences home crowd in Prague with Gawlas win

The first round is drawing to a close at the Czech Darts Open with three more games on Friday evening and Steve Beaton, Ross Smith and Madars Razma are the latest trio through.

Razma did so by silencing the home crowd in Prague seeing off Adam Gawlas, the UK Open semi-finalist and one of two main Czech hopes alongside Karel Sedlacek in action tonight.

It was a 6-3 win for Razma with three ton plus checkouts including a 152 for the Latvian and 50% on the outer ring in an accomplished display.

Ross Smith dealt with debutant Jani Laurila 6-3 who made a good account of himself with an 87 average and 3/4 on the doubles but the European Champion averaged just shy of 100 with seven 180's.

Steve Beaton is also through coming from 4-2 down to see off Darius Labanauskas 6-4. It was four straight legs in succession in a brilliant comeback win for the evergreen 'Bronzed Adonis'.
