Jose de Sousa moved through to the Quarter-Finals of The Masters after taking out Rob Cross 10-7 with a 98.7 average, six 180's and a 122 checkout to win.
De Sousa said he was glad to get the win post match against a player he has a lot of time for.
"Well I enjoy every time I play Rob, he's a good friend and we practice so many times. I tell them before I wish him a great game but this time was for me," said De Sousa post match.
It was a costly miscount to go 6-4 up from Cross which proved pivotal and De Sousa known for his miscounts said it was one he was glad to take advantage of.
"I tell him welcome back to the club. It was great I think it was a great moment to change the game for me. I punish him and after that just go through the game and make the scores and doubles."
After issues surrounding his COVID jab and the after effects, De Sousa believes now he is back close to his best again.
"I'm about 95% there. But I'm very close to my game. I'm hoping one month is enough, I can be playing my best."
