Jose de Sousa has had another terrific year in the PDC hitting his first nine-darter on the TV and claiming a maiden European Tour title.
De Sousa caught up recently with The Darts Show at the European Championship to discuss his old job as a carpenter, his new found belief after winning a European Tour and his nine-darter.
"I'm a carpenter, I make kitchens. Last year I was working on kitchens and in July, I had to quit my work and start to dedicate 100% to the darts because now it's my job," he said.
"It was amazing, to hit a nine-darter on the big stage, on television. It's very difficult, all the best players can do that. I'm not the best player but I think I make history. If I can play my game I can do anything, When I say anything it's something impossible, maybe for the 95 percent of players."
"Glen Durrant say a couple of times, he says you are much better than me. I can't believe in this, it come from the man who won three BDO World Championship titles. When I win the European Tour I started to believe in that."
