De Sousa searching for return to form after difficult 18 months: "If my real game comes to me again, I'm a serious player"

Jose de Sousa is through to a tie with Michael van Gerwen on Sunday afternoon after breezing past Lee Evans in a whitewash win and after being whitewashed last week, it is a winning return that was needed for 'The Special One'.

"Last week, I lost 6-0 so I take a win, that's good for me. I work so much for this, I still work a lot because I don't feel I've got strong enough in my arms at the moment. But I work on that. Tomorrow I hope I can play better," said De Sousa to Online Darts.

But the aim mainly is to return to the form that saw him win majors and establish himself a s one of the most watch players.

"I try to be more solid. At the moment, I can only play in 90, 95's, maybe a little bit higher. Maybe some 100 averages in crucial averages but I work for that believe me."

"That's what I want, hopefully I can make it again and if my real game comes to me again, I'm a serious player to win a couple of things."
