Jose de Sousa, Stefan Bellmont and Andy Baetens qualified for the second round of the
Belgian Darts Open in Wieze, Belgium, on Friday afternoon.
De Sousa saw off Belgian qualifier Francois Schweyen. 'The Special One' lost the first two legs, but then picked up five in a row. In the end it was 6-3 for De Sousa, who will face Michael van Gerwen in the second round on Saturday evening.
While it was a first ever win on the
European Tour for Stefan Bellmont who saw off Welshman, Robert Owen 6-4 and finally WDF World Number One fresh off double success in Denmark saw off Jermaine Wattimena 6-3 to conclude the session.
Seen alongside Berry van Peer as one of the best players without a Tour Card, he proved it on his home stage with a 6-3 success hitting 6/9 on his doubles.
