Defending champion Clayton continues Masters title defence with superb win over Price

The rivalry between Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price continues with 'The Ferret' continuing the defence of his Masters title with a superb 10-8 victory over his World Cup teammate.

Clayton produced a 104.2 average in claiming the win with five 180's and 67% on the doubles and he is through to the semi-finals where he will face Dave Chisnall.

Price raced into the lead early as he looked to get away from his rival at 3-0 up.

But Clayton came charging back with a 106 checkout to make it 3-1. Price continued to increase his lead to 4-1 but it was after the first interval that Clayton began to find his footing.

He produced a 100 checkout to make it 4-2 and broke to make it 4-3 with a 78 checkout. This was consolidated and he went ahead for the first time at 6-5 up.

Price kept pace at 7-6 down with a 100 checkout followed by a 147 checkout for 8-7 down but the legs began to run out for his revival as Clayton went one away.

Price went one behind at 9-8 down but as he looked to force a decider Clayton pinned a 180 and 50 checkout on double 16 last dart in hand which saw him seal it.
