Defending champion Durrant reacts to Premier League elimination: "It's been a nightmare"

Glen Durrant was eliminated early from this year's Premier League Darts after his latest defeat to Jose de Sousa.

It is seven straight defeats for the defending champion who has been struggling throughout the tournament. Speaking afterwards, he was gutted but wants to come back stronger.

“It’s devastating for me and it’s been a nightmare seven games. I’ve been working so hard because I know there’s something wrong with my game, and my target now is the World Matchplay," said Durrant to Oche.

“I want to finish strongly in the last two games and take something from this season but it’s been so disappointing for me.”

But his aims to comeback stronger at least in the short term will be halted with Durrant deciding to be the first of potentially many not to travel to the Super Series which is to be held in Germany next week.

“I’m defending lots of money this year but I’ve still made the decision not to go to Germany," he said on Twitter.

“It could cost me Grand Prix/Players Champs but genuinely feel it’s the right decision.

“I just want my wife / daughter right now and darts doesn’t seem to matter …for now.”
