Gerwyn Price is through to the Last 16 of the 2022
Grand Slam of Darts but his dominance at the Aldersley Leisure Village nearly came to a premature end at the hands of Dave Chisnall in an absolute thriller in Wolverhampton.
Price, the defending champion, survived two match darts from Chisnall averaging 103 and snatched a 5-4 victory to move through in second spot from Group A alongside Raymond van Barneveld.
After opening up with an 87 checkout, Chisnall hit back with a 122 on the bull to level before a double double 99 combo saw Price make it 2-2. Chisnall went one away though at 4-3 only to miss two match darts and Price got off the hook to make it 4-4.
Before producing a last dart 87 checkout to seal his spot with some incredible bottle.

Joe Cullen has done his part and will hope to move through Group C with Michael Smith and Ritchie Edhouse up next in Wolverhampton.
Cullen saw off Lisa Ashton 5-3 but looked in trouble at one stage with 'The Lancashire Rose' going 3-1 up and looking to bow out with a win but 'The Rockstar' reeled off four consecutive legs to seal victory and all eyes will be on the next tie.
