Defending champion
Peter Wright is still involved in The
Masters going into tonight's semi-finals at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes after seeing off Dave Chisnall 10-5 in the end.
Wright produced an excellent display averaging 104.7 with eight 180's and will now face Jonny Clayton or James Wade next up after ending the hopes of Chisnall who potentially has dented his Premier League chances by losing to the former World Champion.
Wright had a brilliant start doubling his lead with a 76 checkout and followed that up with a 140 using treble 20 and two double 20's to make it 3-0.
This proved a catalyst for yet more dominance as he stretched his lead to 5-0 averaging 117 and 5/6 on the doubles.
Chisnall though attempted to come back into the tie with back-to-back legs to make it 5-2 but despite that was yet to hit a maximum.
At the next interval, Chisnall missed three darts at doubles to close the gap which allowed Wright back to make it 7-3 to edge towards the finishing line.
Wright from there continued his momentum going one away by taking out 100 for an 11-darter to go 9-5 up.
'Snakebite' wasn't able to get a shot at 130 but left it handy in the form of double 20 and with Chisnall missing double 20 for a 96 checkout after initially hitting double 18 to give himself the chance to prolong the tie, Wright returned to claim the win.
