Defending champions Wales survive Lithuania scare in reaching World Cup of Darts Quarter-Finals

Defending World Cup of Darts champions Wales are the last team through to the Quarter-Finals but they had to work for it after surviving a scare from Lithuania.

It was another match that went to a pairs decider which the team of Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price took despite needing a break to do so in the end.

Gerwyn Price was first up against Mindaugas Barauskas and despite being tested at points, the World Champion claimed a 4-2 victory with a 91 average, two 180's and 44% on the doubles to see Wales halfway there.

But with that came an important tie as Jonny Clayton looked to seal their place in the Quarter-Finals against Darius Labanauskas and it was Lithuania who levelled it up.

A 4-2 victory was set for 'Lucky D' who averaged 88 to Clayton's 95 who hit three 180's but it was the double success that proved fruitful for Labanauskas who hit 66% in the end compared to only 28% from his opponent.

It was time for another pairs decider and one which would tell the fate of the defending champions.

Price had the first chance to seal it after going 3-2 up in the pairs but missed match darts as did Clayton and they were needing a break to then stay in it and they claimed one to keep their charge alive.
