Devon Petersen's 'Dartboard Maths' initiative, aimed at helping the next generation to develop their mathematical skills in a fun way, has now been fully endorsed by the PDPA.
"This endorsement is not just a recognition of our product, but a validation of the transformative potential we see in uniting the sport of darts with education, particularly in mathematics," reacts Petersen in an official press release. "The PDPA’s endorsement is a significant milestone for us. It underscores the value and credibility of Dartboard Maths, acknowledging the product as a tool that promotes both academic excellence and athletic skills. The PDPA represents the pinnacle of professionalism in darts, and their support reflects the alignment of our product with the sport’s high standards. More importantly, it emphasizes how Dartboard Maths can become an integral part of promoting darts as not just a competitive sport, but as a conduit for learning, mental agility, and personal growth."
PDPA President Alan Warriner-Little is only too delighted to assist Petersen in giving back to the next generation of darting stars. "The PDPA are delighted to support ‘Dartboard Maths’ with its founder and PDPA Member ‘Devon Petersen’. Its innovative learning module is excellent. We also recognise the work done to get to this stage and its future potential," explains the former world number one.
"As a learning tool for education and even coaching this platform works in so many levels, we look forward to its development and working alongside Devon," Warriner-Little adds. "We are more than happy to be on board as an association."

More than just for the future of his initiative, Petersen is confident Dartboard Maths and the PDPA working alongside can benefit the future of the entire sport. "By introducing the sport to a younger generation through educational platforms like Dartboard Maths, we are helping cultivate new interest in darts from an early age. As children experience the fun and competitive nature of the sport while learning maths, they are more likely to develop a passion for darts. This not only nurtures future players and fans but also strengthens the sport's connection with educational institutions, broadening its reach and relevance," the South African explains.
"Darts is already recognized as a sport that requires mental agility, precision, and focus—traits that DartboardMaths promotes and enhances. With the PDPA's support, we believe that the educational benefits of darts will become a central focus in its future development, encouraging more young people to explore the game in a learning context."
A key reason for the PDPA and Petersen coming together with their shared goal, was the work of Peter Manley. "I introduced Devon Petersen to give the PDPA board of directors the opportunity to review and evaluate his idea on Dartboard Maths," reveals the PDPA Vice President. "Having seen Devon participate at all levels of Darts it was intriguing to see a player with so much knowledge, passion and desire for a product that will change children's life's whilst introducing them to the World of Darts. The outcome was unanimous to endorse Dartboard Maths and we look forward to helping Devon on his initiative and worldwide success."
Through the support of the PDPA, Petersen is now hopeful he can take Dartboard Maths to the masses. "With the PDPA backing us, we plan to expand our outreach to schools, clubs, and community programs. We aim to create more partnerships with educational institutions, ensuring that learners worldwide can benefit from this unique approach to education. In addition, we will continue to innovate, developing new tools and features within Dartboard Maths to further align the product with botheducational and sporting goals," he says.
"The PDPA’s endorsement also opens the door to exciting collaborations within the professional darts community. By working with the pros, we can create engaging content, workshops, and demonstrations that show how Dartboard Maths can be used by aspiring players and learners alike to enhance both their maths skills and their darts performance."
"At Dartboard Maths, we share a vision with the PDPA: to foster the growth of the sport of darts while promoting education. Together, we can inspire the next generation of darts players and create an environment where learning and sport go hand in hand. The PDPA’s endorsement is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey, and we look forward to what the future holds," Petersen concludes.
"We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the PDPA for their support. The future of darts and maths education has never looked brighter."
