The
European Darts Trophy 2026 is the next tournament on the run-in on the
European Tour between 13-15 March 2026 and is the second tournament of the year returning to a familiar home of the Lokhalle in Gottingen.
A tournament steeped in European Tour folklore and will be the first tournament to take place in Germany of the new European Tour season. While the tournaments have been decreased in the country to make way for further events in such countries as Poland and also Bratislava, such tournaments as the
European Darts Trophy remain.
Among those involved include Michael van Gerwen, Luke Humphries, Gian van Veen and Gerwyn Price. Albeit that is subject to any late withdrawals with the European Tour having issues in the recent past despite making allowances for the big names which has been criticised with actually keeping them on the line-up. For instance Premier League Darts being such a big part of the week manifests it in players often skipping tournaments.
Luke Littler for instance though has gone to a different level and has boycotted European Tour tournaments in Germany as such. He didn't get the best crowd reception in 2025 and apart from the World Cup and European Championship, he has not played since in the country. Something which he downplays but is often a factor as it is here.
Also with Littler being such a dominant force as of late, it means that for many it is a good opportunity to seal a title when the World No.1 and World Champion decides to take a week off.
Nathan Aspinall was crowned European Darts Trophy champion in 2025
